We ship out so many rugs, it can be hard to remember back even a week ago to what we finished. Let’s look back over some beautiful rugs from the last month. Merely showing some highlights, we finished two Columns rugs (in Storm and in Ink) as well as Marcus R in Taupe.
Columns is one of those ever-versatile patterns. With such a simple setup, you can get a wide range of results from subtle to powerful. The Columns rug is two “columns” of different colors. But the way these two columns interact create a lot of interest. With a light, medium, and dark in different sets of colors for each of the two columns, you get subtly blending colors repeating over the rug.
In Columns Ink, the varied and rich blues pull you into a story of old-timey pirates and ocean exploration. The hints of rust algae bring depth to the blue overtones.
We also finished up a Columns Storm rug. Replacing the inky blues with warm grays, you get an entirely different rug. you can almost feel the sheets of rain pouring from the sky. With contrasting dark and light grays, it feels like an infinitely rainy autumn in the Pacific Northwest.
Marcus R in Taupe was shipped all the way to New Zealand. Everything circles back as we get some of our yarn from New Zealand sheep. This 9x10-foot rug features an extraordinary pattern with stripes of reflecting diamonds. Though the colorway is simply called taupe, it features some glorious teals along with those warm browns.
More rugs of all kinds are always being worked on here. We have some exciting rugs finishing up in January, including a plaid rug all in wool.
