How to Make an Entrance

Steeple Install.jpg

We recently had a chance to make this stunning entry rug for Colleen Knowles Interior Design.

The client wanted a thinner version to clear the door. This also created a sleeker look. See options above.

It’s the first rug we have woven on our new 10’ loom, “Suzy”.

Recent Project: Ballard Rug

Amy Tyson

In recent weeks, I traveled to several showrooms around the country and everyone wants green.

Currently, we’re working on this custom project for a den in house near Lake Tahoe and I think they are ahead of the trend. I especially appreciate the call for a little terra cotta color to play off the multitudes of green.

This rug is 12’ wide by 26’ long. With a project that big, teamwork is essential. All the weavers had to work a day or two on this rug for a total of 12 days of weaving! That’s before you even get to finishing and backing.

Dotted Lines

We just finished this l 12' x 18' for Tapis & Decor in Minneapolis. We started with a Photoshop rendering to show how stripes would look on the full size rug.

In the photo below, you can see the rendering taped to the loom. This is how the weavers keep track of the stripes to create  controlled variation and rhythm in width. Although I planned the blend of yellow creams and pale greys in the "white" section in the sample, I didn't expect it to be so pretty in the room size rug.
